Wonder Woman Dessert Table

Wonder Woman has been my favorite superhero since I was a little girl so naturally I had a blast creating this dessert table featuring our latest Superhero party backdrop.

Wonder Woman has gone through several looks through the years, but my favorite has always been the Wonder Woman I remember from when I was a little girl in the early 80s. I loved watching the TV show with Lynda Carter and I even remember having Wonder Woman underoos!

The Dessert Table & Decor:
I wanted a retro comic feel with red, turquoise and yellow as the main colors. I started with a black background and our Superhero party backdrop. I added the cut out action words for extra flair.  Using my Silhouette, I made black cityscapes to wrap around the candy jars, Wonder Woman crowns for cupcake wrappers and treat boxes, Eagle chest emblems for the treat boxes, Wonder Woman logos and cupcake toppers

The Sweeties:
I made cupcakes with gold lightning bolt fondant toppers and candy covered cereal treats topped with fondant stars. I topped golden Oreos with the retro candy decorations that I found at Target on clearance for 50 cents along with the Superman and Batman party picks I also found on clearance.  I filled the candy jars with gumballs and m&ms, and used yellow Twizzlers as Wonder Woman's lasso. I filled striped popcorn boxes with popcorn and wrapped a crown around the base.

Paper Stationery:
I made Wonder Woman stickers for the small candy containers and favor tags for the large favor boxes.  I wrapped candy bars with comic pages I printed and also made matching treat bags.

Remember those icky candy decorations we used to get on our cakes in the 80s? I was so excited when I came across these at Target! Nothing says retro like these candy decorations!

I found a silicon lightning bolt ice tray in Target's dollar spot and used it to make these fondant toppers. Super easy!

Did you know Wonder Woman has been romantically linked to both Superman and Batman? What a lucky lady!

Tidbit:
Our new backdrop isn't limited to Wonder Woman, it can easily be used for Superman, Batman, Spiderman and other popular superhero themed parties!

I think this theme is one of my all time favorites, I hope you enjoyed it as well and find lots of inspiration for your next Superhero party!

Thanks for visiting!

"A Day in Paris" Dessert Table

My Mother is quite the "Fashionista" and loves everything fashion related including one of the fashion capitals of the world, Paris.  She recently asked that I help her with a Paris themed dessert table for a luncheon and fashion show she was planning for the ladies at church.  Of course I wanted to help, how fun!

Decor:
I started with the coordinating stationery in her color choices of red, white and black along with a sprinkle of turquoise. With a little furniture rearranging, her sitting room proved to be the perfect place for the party.   It was one of the easiest tables I have set up so far since she already had all the needed decor and artwork that doubled as backdrops.

Desserts:
I filled apothecary jars with coordinating candy and we served cupcakes, madeleines and palmiers. I handcut several themed toppers for the cupcakes and placed them in coordinating nut cups from Pick Your Plum.  I also wrapped candy bars in matching stationary.

Fashion Show:
My Mom spent hours upon hours decorating the rest of her home to give it a boutique ambiance not to mention the hours spent shopping for the dresses that were worn by the models. There was a total of 21 dress changes!  The fashion show was a huge hit, so much that several ladies purchased the modeled dresses right on the spot.

Tidbit:
Mom has always loved to dress up and look chic. Unfortunately, I didn't inherit her love of  fancy dresses with matching shoes, purses and hats. Although I appreciate fashion, I'm most comfortable in a pair of jeans. As you can see, when I was a child Mom made sure I was fashionable!

The lovely ladies all had a great time and best of all, I spent quality "girlie" time with my Momma.

Thanks for visiting!

Mother's Day Celebration - Scrapbook Luncheon

I love my Momma, I love being a Mom and I love to scrapbook! So this year I hosted a Scrapbook Luncheon for my Mom and the other great Mommy's in my life (and my nieces) to celebrate Mother's Day.

The Decor:
I combined my love of chevron with my love of turquoise and hot pink to create the invitation and matching party decor.  I created two backdrops with tulle and made matching table runners and a banner.  My mom made the gorgeous flower arrangement for my centerpiece. Isn't it beautiful? I absolutely love it and can't wait to find a place in my office for it to live permanently.

The Food:
I served finger sandwiches, Mom's red potato salad (my mom makes the best potato salad),  Kale salad, fresh fruit, veggies and humus.

Desserts:
The ladies had their pick of cupcakes, cake, strawberry shortcakes and an array of candy for dessert.

Party Favors:
I decorated gable boxes with the initials of each lady and filled them with a handmade scarf. They were a huge hit (so don't be surprised if you see them added to our Rayden Vaughn Grayson Designs line)!

My beautiful friend Gabby modeling her scarf.

We ate, we talked, we scrap-booked and we created memories, it was a fabulous day with some fabulous ladies!

Thank you for visiting!

God Bless,
